I purchased a house in a lake community most of the homes have little to no yard space. I decided to remove some bushes that were struggling anyway and putting in a fresh lawn. The decorative stone that was covered in moss and a pain to keep weeds and moss off of it was relocated to the side of the house where it will get more sun. This project cost absolutely nothing but time so far. Everthing I needed was literally laying around my house.😀

The decorative stone was covered in moss and the Lilly bulbs were taking over.

I raked the stone just to take the moss off.

I took out 6 bushes that after a couple seasons were still struggling to grow and were a nightmare in the fall when the leaves got trapped in them.

Last summer we had to put in a new septic system which required me to level out and try and make something of this awkward space next to the house.

I started pulling up the weed barrier and relocating the decorative stone in the space around the corner of the house.

It was slow going back breaking work for one person but I laid down a new weed barrier and wheelbarrow by wheelbarrow full of stone found its way to its new home.

The ground under the weed barrier is covered with roots but I plan to add top soil to level it out and plant grass.

This was the perfect place to rehome this stone. I couldn't grow grass here because of the pine trees and I had to put in something easily moved for septic access.

This is the back yard connecting to the side of the house and the new gravel should make leaf blowing easier than raking.

To tie the backyard in I added this little path that is mimicked on both sides of the house.
