So like every other millennial, I am obsessed with jars. After the course of a few months of collecting, (and fighting off my fiance's hatred of my collecting) I decided it was time to make them all uniform.
I first took inventory of all of my jars. I came to realize that I really have a problem with Bonne Maman jelly. What can you do, I'm just a gal who loves her jelly.
My next order of business was to get all of the sticky off the jars. A super simple process involving soap and boiling water. I placed all of the jars in a bowl, poured a bunch of dish soap and then let it sit for about 10 minutes in the boiling water. The stickers came off with ease!
I dried all of the jars and decided I would spray paint just the bottoms of the jars and the caps, so I used some painters tape to help me out with a straight line.
I let the caps and jars sit upside down for a few hours to completely dry. I took the painters tape off and did a little bit of clean up with some acetone.
After painting them I realized I'll have no way to know what my precious jars are holding. So I used some handy dandy chalkboard tape, which came our much cuter than I thought it would. I am so happy with the result!
