Maybe return them if you just got them. Otherwise, I think I would make a fabric extension and put some little ties with snaps to hold them on to the base. Or you could glue a row of long fringe from the fabric store onto the base.

Do you have a picture of what you are referring too? I am not very crafty. This is a rental property. My husband had a job transfer and so he picked the place and it is nice however, the small details like the blinds are driving me up the wall. Management will not replace them (they are wooden blinds) and if we put more up, we can not remove them when we leave.

Lower the blinds to the length of your window and add a valance at the top of your window. You can make a simple valance to coordinate with your room colors or add a pop of color by intoducing a different color for the valance.

I like this idea. However, do you have a picture of what you are talking about. I am not very crafty and I am a newlywed. I am trying to learn different things.

I like the idea of lowering them and add a valance like suggested above , although I'm not sure it will work, since it is a bay window. A quick fix is those trim works they sell at the fabric store. Pompoms are very popular now but not my style. Be sure to fold a little in on the ends and hot glue on each vane. Love to see pics when yer done!

What are trim works? I am renting this property until next May due to my husbands job transfer. The owners do not want to put up new blinds and I am considering doing it myself. However, per the lease, if you put up new blinds, they become property of management!! Ughhhh. My husband chose this place and I do like it but some of the rules have me pulling my hair out

Trim such as Pom poms or fringe or tassles. There are tons of different idea to suit your style and colors at the fabric stores. You can match wall colors or add a new color for fun. Also a fun thing I used in rentals were wall stickers. I got large magnolias for one house I rented. Just make sure they are removable. In an apartment I had encouraging words from a dollar store. Fun ways to make it cute when you are renting!

How about some wooden bi-fold shutters on the windowsil. Lower the blinds to fit against the blinds.

If you want to make what you have work then lower the blinds so they cover the lower part of the window which is usually closer to eye level then the upper part.
