Apple cider vinegar in cup lids attracts the flies, you may need to refill daily if near air conditioner's or sun because it will evaporate... But it does work....we had bunches and they went poof....may take a couple oif days to get the scent but they do find it! We can so no fruit flies while prep!

We fight the little critters often. I find that a small dish with apple cider vinegar and a few drops of dish soap does excellent. Mix the solution, then cover the dish with a piece of saran wrap. Poke 2 - 3 small holes in it and set it near where the flies are the worst.

You haver something in your kitchen or whatever room they are in. I would spray bug spray. I've had the same problem, alot of times its fruit that draws them.

Fruit flies dislike the scent of PineSol. Just wipe down your countertop with a little PineSol and water. Make sure to keep your fruit and veggies sealed if you have them laying out so they don't attract them. I use my glass-dome cake stand...works really well to allow tomatoes to ripen and avoid those pesky fruit flies.

If they are coming from plants, repot them in fresh soil and scrub the pots. If not, they come into the house in fresh fruit, etc. that you put out on the counters like bananas, apples, oranges, etc. Wash any fruit that comes in the house before you leave it out on the counter. That was how we rid my moms kitchen of them. Grocery store have big problems in the produce department and usually have something they put out to get rid of them, but you will still get them in the house, maybe even the veggies you bring in from your own garden. You will never get rid of them if you don't eliminate the source. They also like to accumulate in the drains where they have a water source. If you notice them in there, bring real hot water from another faucet, or boiling, and put it down that drain.

Set traps for them . Make them out of bowls of apple cider vinegar , not white , and Dawn dish detergent . Cover with plastic wrap and poke holes in the plastic wrap with a toothpick . Make several of these and set aside the sinks . They multiply in the drains .
