I would wash the items in a hot water cycle and add a bit of vinegar to the wash cycle. Add the vinegar directly into the machine just like you would add bleach.
Are they washable? If so rewash them. Take them out of washing machine as soon as load is finished. That way they won't get mildewed.
Yes, vinegar added to the wash cycle, when the wash is done, hang in the sun.
The vinegar and hot water is good advice. You might try hanging it in full sun also. Years ago my stepmother gave me her advice for odors. She recommended soaking the item in hot water with baking soda. It worked for baby smells!
Wash as usual but add the vinegar in the rinse cycle.
Cool article on Mildew remover. Check it out......... http://www.rd.com/home/cleaning-organizing/mildew/
Just was cold with white vinegar, should take it right out.
Wash with Detol in the water
Wash, then rinse in vinegar water, rinse second ( possibly third) hang outdoors to dry. That should do it.
check your machine for a possible mildew buildup.http://www.wikihow.com/Remove-Mildew-Smell-from-Clothing
I would soak for a couple of hours in a vinegar solution. Then wash as usual. Another option if that doesn't do enough, turn inside out and hang outside in the sunshine for a while. Even hanging out in freezing weather can help remove odors from fabric.
Add half cup baking soda to your washer (along with normal detergent amount do the size of load) and wash as normal. I live in a humid area and do this with all our clothes. Removes unwanted odors and leaves your detergent smell.
