Painted Outdoor Rug

I am really excited to share this painted rug project with everyone as it was so much fun! I had seen multiple Pinterest examples of painted rugs on decks and patios but no design I particularly liked. Since I hadn’t found anything on Pinterest I had only the vision in my head to use as a guide. I wanted it to be simple and the vision in my head were the color turquoise with a white flower design.
I started by taping off a section of the deck for the rug. It was a 5'x7' area.
I painted a first coat of turquoise paint which I picked up in the clearance paint at Home Depot. I ended up applying two coats.
I randomly added the flower design with some full flowers and some that were partly cut off. I used a mini foam roller for this part. I applied very little paint when rolling so as to not bleed through.
Yay! I rinsed the stencil in hot water. I dried it between each flower application as to not leave any paint smudges.
The above view of the finished rug!
Here is the completed painted rug along with benches on the deck.

Why no fringe? I think you can get a stencil for it. Would look mor like a rug.
