Dig out what you can reach with your fingers (I know , gross, wear gloves.) Pour a cup of baking soda down the drain followed by a cup of white vinegar then when the bubbles stop, boiling water .

Hello Elaine; Normally, I use a mixture of: One cup or so of Baking Soda, a heaping Tablespoon of Salt and a cup of white vinegar. After the volcano action ceases, follow, with a kettle of Boiling water.

You can purchase any over the counter cleaner, such as Liquid Plumber.

If this does not help your sink drain, I would suggest that you contact a Plumber.

I hope that this helps you!!! Take Care!

Try the easiest methods first. 1) plunger 2) pour boiling water down the drain 3) put 1/4 cup baking soda in sink, followed by 1 cup vinegar. When the foaming stops follow with water 4) tougher clogs can be cleared with a tool called a snake. There are small wire versions that are better suited to a bathroom drain.

Boil some water in a large pot, and while its hot, pour it into the clogged drain. this will melt old soap pieces and gunk and probably open the drain without chemicals. Then do it again to clear the pipes.

    LONG WIRE HOOK

    • Works On: Hair or small objects stuck in bathroom drains. Try this on completely clogged or slow-draining bathroom drains.
    • How to Use: Bend the end of a long piece of wire into a small hook using pliers (a coat hanger works great) or get a drain cleaning tool. Carefully remove the drain cover, remove any visible debris, then insert the hook. (You’ll want to wear gloves, it is gross.) Pull the hook back up and remove any debris (this will be a bunch of decomposing hair and gunk). Use the hook a few times in the drain to make sure you entirely clear the debris. Dispose of the debris in the garbage.

Why This Works: The hook removes the hair and debris that was blocking the drain, leaving it clean and free-flowing.

LIQUID DISH DETERGENT AND HOT WATER

    • Works On: Grease clogs or fat narrowed pipes. Try this on slow-draining kitchen drains.
    • How to Use: Heat 2 liters (a large pot of water) to a boil then stir in a few tablespoons of natural hand washing dish detergent or Sal's Suds. Slowly pour the nearly boiling water down the slow running drain and then flush with hot tap water. This can take several pans of detergent and hot water.

Why This Works: The hot water melts some of the grease narrowing the pipes, and the dish detergent helps to dissolve the fat. This combination of cleaners removes the gunky buildup and allows drain pipes to run more freely.

Look on line. Do you have a garbage disposal and put everything in it? Wrong says my plumber.

I have used washing soda followed by a moderate amount of boiling or very hot water. Let it stand 15 min. and turn on hot water tap. This might help.
