Ever since I bought a new chandelier for our formal dining room, I knew I wanted to give my old one a makeover and use it in our breakfast area. For me, this chandelier was simply too plain and too boring but being the handy person I am I wanted to make it look beautiful so I did what anyone in my position would do, I looked for ideas on Pinterest. At the end, I decided to go for Crystal Distressed Chandelier.
Check out the video above to learn how to make this Crystal Distressed Chandelier on your own! OR you could always just follow this step-by-step guide. No matter what you do I’m sure you’ll enjoy making this gorgeous Chandelier.
I’m re-using this chandelier that came with my house.

Remove the light bulbs and plastic pieces.
I used two coat of Chalked spray paint, however, I recommend to Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan in Old White it works better. For better result hang the chandelier to paint it. Let it dry
* If you decide to use Chalk Paint the sample size is plenty.
I want a distressed look, but if that’s not your style you can skip the rest of the painting portion of the tutorial.
I gave it a coat of a gray wash, I recommend using Chalk Paint in Graphite. You don’t need to worry about being perfect.
Use a mesh scoured to bring the white color to the front.
Now use a sanding block to smooth the surface.

Make a paste using finishing wax and walnut stain; rub the paste in the chandelier to accomplish a vintage, distressed look.

·       Use a drill with a tiny bit to make holes in the chandelier.
Attach the crystal strands to the chandelier
