I decorated my hutch for Valentine's Day using this sweet picture of cupid I found at a Flea Market last month for only $ 5.00. I also found 6 rose printed plates for 5$ and I purchased some roses for 5$ at a craft store. Which brings the total of this display to be only $15.00 I also used some of my Pink Depression Glass collection that I inherited . Please visit my blog to see more.
I used a pink depression glass candy dish as a vase for my roses. I displayed these vintage printed rose plates. I also re purposed this vintage Avon perfume bottle by filling it with water and red food coloring.
I displayed all my white dishes and added these red wine glasses to give this hutch a pop of color. The white dishes stand out because of the red painted backing of the hutch. I used a vintage collar placed on the shelf with the edges hanging down to create a unique look.
I bought these roses from a local craft store or you can use fresh. I then arranged them inside this pink depression glass candy dish. I stacked more dishes on either side of the rose arrangement and placed plates with a pink rose pattern in the back. Doing this causes the display to be balanced. Using items of the same helps it to be a simple elegant display.
I used vintage books to display my cupid picture and to add height to it. I used several different pieces of my dishes for this display. Keep with the same color scheme when mixing different pieces and patterns. In this case the colors are white, red, and pink.
