Old Table to New Table

I found this gorgeous table at a thrift store, and it was on sale for $40! However, the seats were dirty and stained, and the whole thing smelled as if it had been stored in a musty basement for decades. Our entire house smelled after just a couple hours, so I got to work cleaning and repairing.
I couldn't believe it when I found this dining table at such a steal of a price. I left the store without it, but I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I went back a couple hours later and, thankfully, it was still there!
The first thing I did was remove the seats/cusions. They were so old and worn, there wasn't much to sit on.
The whole set had such an overwhelming stench of old, musty, dusty, dingy, ickiness. I turned the table upside down and covered the bottom of the table top with baking soda and let it sit for a couple days. For the rest of the table, I made a water/vinegar mixture and started scrubbing scrubbing scrubbing... a lot.
I bought new cushions and fabric and started to reupholster all four chairs. There were so many staples and nails all over each seat, it took a couple hours just to tear off the old stuff and remove the old staples.
And here it is! Clean, deodorized, and reupholstered. It took a lot of work, but it was definitely worth it. Not pictured: this table didn't just come with one table leaf... but two! It extends into a giant dining table, perfect for holidays or any kind of large gathering.
