Decorate a wall

Hang something large and interesting centered over the couch. Maybe a picture that has the colors of your room in it to tie everything together. Or make a grouping of pictures, again over the couch. It would even look better if you took the 5 items down that are on the wall now.

You can often find large pictures at thrift stores for very little.

You can paint a variety of empty frames to match the wall

hang framed pages of your favorite books or sheet music.

Think beyond just pictures on your wall. You seem to have tall ceilings. What about a long shelf (longer than your sofa) mounted a foot or two from the ceiling to put pottery, books, artificial-but realistic- plants, etc. Anything that is large enough to be easily seen. Perhaps something you collect. Depending on your taste, you could hang a quilt, a grouping of plates above a large mirror, a group a framed posters, thrift store pictures, a large picture with candle sconces on each side. There are so many possibilities. You could also stencil or wallpaper this one wall and then hang your items for even more interest. I did a wall of thrift store mirrors that I painted and hung, another wall of quilt hoops with pictures of flowers from my yard, and a stenciled wall with metal pieces. It doesn’t cost any more to do something really interesting! Can’t wait to see what you do. Best of luck. Was wanting to give it an open feeling either with faux window like small mirrors or mural type. Or a frame that I can change out the picture with the season.

In my previous home, I did a mirror wall over my sofa. I bought every unique shaped mirror I could find, most came from the thrift store. You could paint them different colors or all the same color with just one painted in a different color as an accent. Use the 3 mirrors you have hanging, just change the positioning...one like you have now, turn one length-ways, and try to do one at an angle. Hobby Lobby has some of the best mirrors and they go on sale often. I just purchased a window w/6 mirrored panes for $20---it was 1/2 off!

Looks like a lot of "square" things in the room. For balance, add something with rounded edges in your wall décor and pull that blue out of the rug with color on the wall also. Have fun with it!

The first thing I notice is a lot of beige and those tiny wall hangings don't provide the impact this feature wall deserves.

After you decide whether you're going to keep the couch as is or perhaps use a couch cover, PLEASE FIND A LARGE GRAPHIC PRINT OR BOLD NATURAL DESIGN with perhaps up to two complimentary prints that will be the root of how you piece this room together.

If you're keeping the tan try to find a PRINT with tan and another color that is classic, you can live with, and isn't terribly trendy destined to be out of style before the paint tries. Navy works well whether you keep the tan or try a variety of whites or grey. Try clearance remnants at the fabric store first. Then branch out to the upholstery or exterior fabric areas which are quite a bit more pricey.

If you can't find a fabric or three, create your own. Look around fashionable furniture stores, even the rent-to-own ones for ideas. They have great art. A dot here and strategically placed lines across three canvas panels do wonders to bring a room together for a cohesive look. Otherwise frame your fabric & paint your frames to highlight these important components which anchor your room.

Remember you have to go large. Remove the mirrored panels out of a basic behind-the-door mirror & replace them with your fabric choices. Your favorite should be centered with the other two flanking it on each side.

Lastly, the proper fabric and color choices you make can make this project go extremely well or horribly left. Ask for help from associates, check online home decor sites and keep a folder of your best looks. What did they have in common? Remember if it doesn't represent what you'd like your future room to represent about you & your family, let it go!

I used these pictures I purchased to drive the decisions I made to pull this room together. But now I have regrets about too much brown and beige, although I feel the fall cranberry and black compliment it well. Smaller pieces of art wouldn't have done this wall justice.

If you want to use what you have.....put the mirrors centered over your couch and the candle thingies on each side of the mirrors.
