My client has a huge Harry Potter crush and wanted a dresser for her son's room that would provide storage for a growing boy but also a splash of colour. I has this great piece waiting to be worked on and it was the perfect size for the room
After cleaning and prepping it was ready for the magic to happen
Great looking legs to be added too.
After many conversations about what would be best, we decided that a design that could grow with her son was the best way to go. I suggested using the Hogwarts house colours and produced an image in photoshop. She loved it. We were off!
First I painted the whole dresser in a solid black, giving it two coats. After 24 hours I started to transfer my design onto the drawers. I had made sure that I matched the house colours and got client approval before I started to paint.
Here is the left hand side:
I did a stripe in copper on the middle drawers as I was planning on using copper on the middle emblem. This gives the whole piece a cohesive look.
I found the Hogwarts' emblem online and enlarged it and printed it out. I traced the image onto the three middle drawers.
Here it is all done and looking amazing. The client and her son were overjoyed!

I love the Harlequin design. I went to your website and it says you cut the stencil. But it doesn't show the stencil or you using it. I don't have a stencil machine and don't want to buy an expensive stencil. Is there a way for me to hand cut a Harlequin stencil or one similar? I love the dresser as you remade it. I'll keep it in mind for the future. Best wishes 😇
