New fresh color to paint house

What colors do you like?

Since it's a lake house, what about a classic nautical blue and white? Here's a link to a picture before-and-after where the before is very similar to the colors of your home and the after a nautical theme:

The blue is Westcott Navy Paint by Benjamin Moore

I think a nice taupe with beige trim would keep the woodsy feeling.

Hello Kathy, I like the idea of painting your home a light gray with white trim. The white trim would really give a nice contrast against the gray. You could leave the shutters and hardware on the garage door black. Then paint the door red. You have a lovely home. Wishing you many happy years in it. Good luck.

What a pretty house! I would pull another colour from your stone. It looks like you might have quite a few options. If you find the options too light or wishy-washy, choose another colour from the paint chip that matches your stone.

I have to say that I really like your house colours "as-is". The siding looks like a mid-tone gray-beige on my monitor.

I used my Sherwin-Williams "colorsnap" app on your picture. Of course the shade is affecting the stone colour, but this is what came up. Idk if it looks anything like it does in person. Oddly enough it didn't pick up on the orange-y or red tones...

If none of those appeal to you how about a charcoal gray? If your sididng is vinyl, you would have to go with a vinyl safe tone. I think both BM and SW, have darker tones for vinyl.

Very light slate blue or Colonial blue - I am a blue freak. White trim.

White will make everything else pop and brighten up the look.

I love your house. I would start by picking a main body color from the stone work. I think something a little deeper and richer in color in neutrals would be lovely. The trim on the eaves definitely needs to contrast. ........maybe a bright white? The same color of trim makes it look like there is no architectural detail when all it really needs is some contrast to show it off. I do like the black trim on the shutters but I would give it a fresh coat of black satin to add some sheen and dimension. I like the matching garage doors so they kind of fade into the house and are NOT featured. The garage hardware is perfect. Paint the front door satin black and it will tie the entire place together beautifully. Enjoy this fabulous place!

Kathy Teng, most of the big name paint companies have a section where you can download your own picture, and try their different colours. It would save you a ton of money and effort in the long run. When you find a combination you like, you can then buy a sample to be extra sure.

My suggestion, take a picture of your front house and use an app named colorpic. this app will give you an idea how it look and name and brand of the paint.

I would paint it one of the gray shades in the stones. The door already picks up one of the colors. I would also use the stone shades for the shutters and trim.
