So many colorful vases can be found at thrift stores and garage sales. Drilling a hole in the bottoms with a diamond bit allows stacking on a pole. The key is to let the drill do the work with water over the work area. Clear plates with glass beads helps with the arrangement. I put a few pieces together with JB Weld to make for easier stacking and arranging.
First I gathered up vases that I had.
Having a collection of vases is a good start.
Next I went to Home Depot and got a drill bit for glass. This was the most expensive part of the project but it will last for many projects. I got a 1/2 inch bit so that I could slide a substantial pole through. I ended up using a garden shepherds hook with the hook cut off (with a hack saw.)
You can see I pushed too hard without water on the green vase. Oops. The pink vase is what you'll get when you take it slow and let the drill do the work. Nice clean hole.
Vase in small container with water just covering the area to be drilled.
Practice makes perfect.
I also pick up glass beads at garage sales so I have a whole bucket at my disposal. The clear Liquid Nails is good for outside , it's waterproof. Plates are good if there is a gap between vases. After holes were drilled I used JB Weld to put 2-3 pieces together, making sure holes lined up. After letting the JB Weld set overnight, I took them outside and started placing in the metal garden pole. I tried a garden stake but it was too wobbly. A shepherds hook with the hook cut off worked great.
Ta-Daaaah. I love it.

I love it! How much money do you think Anthropologie would charge for it, lol! Great job though, it’s a perfect variety of bold colours that look so lovely in the greenery
