Easy
A few acrylic paints, paint dyed rope, a little hot glue and spray clear coat. BAM!! new fruit basket.
Before
This was a basket my mother received full of stuff as a gift and she was going to throw the basket away and of course I took it and its been sitting in my garage for years. I came across it the other day and decided to give it new life. First I had to clean the dust off.
Supplies
I used green, red, yellow, and yellow oxide acrylic paint, hot glue, rope and clear lacquer all of which I had on hand.
Dyed rope
I diluted paint (green and yellow oxide mixed) in water and soaked my rope.

Painted the leaves
I used a mixture of paint to paint each leaf.
Completed project.
I painted each of the leaves using two colors each, mixing up the colors to make each different.  I gave the leaves a spray of clear coat to seal the paint so it won't peel.  I use the hot glue to attach my dyed rope around the top and bottom trim pieces and wrapped the handle and secured it with hot glue.
Finished piece in use.
I am happy with the finished piece because it now has life that it didn't seem to have before.  I hope you like the upgrade.
