You have picked my favorite colors. White LED lights and teal ornaments in many shapes would stand out against the gold tree. A real sparkler of a crystal topper, or a lace dressed angel, would set the tree off beautifully. If you must have red, use red bows but use a minimum. You chose a gold tree, so let it shine!

I like your idea of teal and white. Perhaps find teal and white ornaments and maybe add silver as a third color through garland and ornaments.

I used to do a silver tree with all clear glass, and frosted and flocked ornaments, and icicles. When you have a metallic tree, I think less is more....let the tree be the focus.

Teal and white sounds perfect. Mix and match patterns and solids. Maybe even different shades of teal.

Your idea of a color theme is going to look elegant. Here are the tree decorating hints I gave a friend if you decide to go a step further. After you decide on the color, think about making the tree decor permanent. At the end of the season you wrap the whole tree in cellophane wrap available at the craft store or home improvement and tuck it away in the garage. If you put hours into the tree this year it saves you 90% of those hours next year. If you are going to go to that trouble, really invest in lights. More is always better. When wrapping lights bring a light out to the end of the branch, loop it around to make the bulb firm and upright and then take lights back into the center and repeat. Lights at the trunk add depth and interest. Add your ornaments small at top, largest at bottom. If all your ornaments are the same size buy two different sizes ribbon (Ex: 2" and 4") Make poofs and bows at the top of each ornament with the ribbons in your color theme. For a larger effect at the bottom, double up the ornaments with larger 4" bows. The bows should have multiple loops and long stringers. This creates more interest and ties your tree together both for effect and color. It is also a very inexpensive way to add pizzaz in your color theme. After ornaments are in place consider adding horizontal interest with whatever suits your theme. It might be strings of cranberries or pearls. It isn't a necessity but does add to the overall effect. Then you can fill in the empty spots with something from nature. This adds an element of freshness even when you spray paint the items. You can use dried babies breath flowers, (just poke into place, it will stay) spray painted magnolia leaves, nuts, liquidambar balls, or pine cones. For your finale, the topper can be added to by taking 4" wired edged ribbon and making a large, multiple looped bow which can be alone or in addition to your topper. I often will add a dozen super long tails from this bow and weave them loosely through to the base or spiral them down the tree. See, after all that work isn't it worth preserving the treasure?

I think the colors you chose will be gorgeous! If you think it needs more, add a small amount of purple or blue.

I'd glam up t The gold and use copper silver and different shades of gold and make it over the top sparkly. Throw in some shiny ornaments of a brmightier green maybe even go bronze metallic chocolate with that theme and it would be beautiful !

i have a tiny (6ft) skinny ttee I do in a woodland theme but stick to the aftermentioned blinged out colors and it is beautiful!

Gold tree can be beautiful with a Victorian theme using pretty jeweled ornaments or go simple with several shades of white balls and some silver- plus lots of glass icicles- clear white lights.
