Ready for Spring? Here's 3 EASY Ways to Decorate Flower Pots!

Terra Cotta pots are inexpensive and very easy to decorate. Here's 3 different styles you can create in under 10 minutes each-- modern gold ombre, 'shabby chic' moss rimmed, and a cute green pot that makes a perfect handmade gift idea.
Flower pots, three ways. Which style is your favorite? Each takes under 10 minutes to make, so you can quickly craft a set (or make all three) if you wish!
This Patio Paint is perfect for terra cotta. It allows the pots to be painted AND used outdoors. You'll need to use several coats and these pots suck up the paint.
Here's a few of the supplies you'll need-- pots, saucers, paint, brushes, sandpaper, gold rub, moss ribbon, and tags (optional)
Style #1: Moss Rimmed. Follow general directions for painting the pots, then use sandpaper to distress paint. Next, glue moss ribbon (found in the floral section) to the rim with hot glue. Super easy and pretty!
A chalkboard tag makes a fun addition-- label the plant, or write a message and give as a gift.
Next is a dry brush technique. Again, paint several coats of white. Then dip paintbrush into green (or other favorite color), dab onto a paper towel, and 'dry brush' across the pot. Add additional layers of color if desired.
Here, I hot glued this 'thanks' wooden tag to the pot to show how this would make a fantastic handmade gift idea!
For the gold ombre, use a gold rub (found in the stamping section.) Start heavy at the bottom and lighten gradually as you move toward the top.
Voila! Gorgeous modern gold ombre look.
These pretty pots are now ready to be used indoors during the winter and outdoors in summer. Find more detailed tutorials for decorating and painting them here: http://makinglemonadeblog.com/decorative-spring-flower-pots-3-ways/
