I have very little counter space and my spices were taking up too much room. So I found these life savers at the Dollar Tree. I decided to create some magnetic spice containers.
I measured the shape of the backs and cut them. The backs already have magnets, but, they are recessed so they are pretty much useless.
I found that hot glue doesn't work as well when both surfaces are shiny. So, I took the time to use a good glue and let them bond overnight.
I then weighed them down with anything that would give them the best seal and left them to dry overnight.
I then filled them with my spices. You can get labels if you'd like for these here.

Here you have it, magnetic spice containers. They are just in reach, yet off the counter! Love it.

Now, keep in mind these are 2/1.00 and that means if you grab from the lid, you will probably lose the spices inside. I learned to grab from just below the lids and won the day. Hope that helped.

I have done this too. I was lucky because my containers have a magnetic disk glued to the flat bottom. I have also put a strip that came with a set, vertically between the door casing and cabinet wall under my light switch. It was wasted space anyway, and I just glued the metal on the wall. It is barely noticeable.

That is a good idea. My cheap containers has magnets too, but they were recessed and didn't hold well.

My containers weren't cheap (cost...quality, well...), but some of them don't open well. I even dented one on the ring, trying to open it.
