This cabinet, which I love, is made of plastic so the shelves were slippery and they slanted downward, slightly. Stuff was constantly falling out, and it being close to the toilet, this was not a good thing!
This cabinet had very dated handles, which I took off, filled the screw holes with spackle, sanded then painted the whole thing bright white.
I cleared off the shelves, gave them a good scrub.
Using card stock, I cut a piece that would fit the width of the shelf less half an inch, and could be folded around 2/3 of the way over. Then I added another strip of the card stock and taped it down with white duct tape. That would be the front of the shelf, thicker than the back.

Then I taped duct tape all around,
and stuck it down on the shelf. All the selves were treated the same. The end product is non-skid, and now slants slightly toward the back of the cabinet.

Since I did this, not one thing has fallen out. The white duct tape is easy to wipe clean as well.

Suggested materials:
  • Card stock   (on hand)
  • White duct tape   (hardware store)
