any tone of gray is a good neutral - just be careful, especially with the lighter shades because they can have undertones of green, blue, or purple. If you want to stay as neutral as possible, you really want to use a true gray.
Hello Jukefrog12, I like the color gray with white trim. I think this color combination offers a timeless look. If you don't have trim, you could bring in the white with pillows, rugs, picture frames, etc. I hope this helps you.

If I were you, I'd find an accessory that ha the great you like in it. Then take that to your paint store. Choose some paint chips you think are similar, and a few that are not. Take then outside (if you're at a big box home improvement store, the iutdoir garden center is great) and line them up on a shelf a foot apart. Then turn around, walk ten feet away. Take your hand and make a little telescope as if you're a kid playing pirate. Look thru the like circle in your hand just at the paint chip. You can get a great idea how the paint week look in natural light. Stores have very purple or yellow lighting and it throws paint chip colors way off. When you find a couple you like, purchase sample sizes. Then go to the dollar store for a few pieces if foam coreboard. They are usually around 2 ' by 3'. Paint each sample onto each foam core board. use painter's tape and tape each board onto your wall. Then turn your back to the wall and walk away ten feet. Again, make your "pirate telescope" with your hand and look at your boards. Put your accessory near the one you like and see if it works. You can wait nice the boards around the room and look at then in different times of the day. And voila! You'll get the right color! Good luck!
its a very nice neutral colour that can co-ordinate with almost any other decor...there are many grays (brown grey, blue grey, green grey) that you need to take into account if you plan to mix grey colours.
