Old chair into garden pot

Hi, I am looking for the person that used an old wood chair and turned it into a planter for flowers. I have an old chair with a round cane seat. The cane is destroyed and I have the idea to used the rounded seat part to put a flower pot in with flowers. I remember seeing a site that someone had done this and I am looking for the info on the best way for me to do this. If anyone has any information on this project I would love to hear from you.
Thank you and best regards to all

I looked through hometalk and found one with metal but you might have to shore up the cane if it is at all not very stable http://www.hometalk.com/diy/old-chair-with-succulents-1570786

There are many sites on the Internet regarding how to re-cane a chair. Here is a YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fCas3QWPeqs You could probably also Google where to get the cane. Unless of course you just want to use it for a planter. Some caned chairs are worth more as the chair. I believe that I also saw the planter idea for the chair on Pinterest as well. Just a thought....

I did several of the chairs for myself and friends making really cute flower chairs as gifts. I bought outdoor paint at the paint store, first, roughed up the OLD paint with some sand paper and painted it with a primer first and then my bright colored paint. prior to painting i got some CHICKEN wire at the feed store and made a wire basket to fit into the hole where the ""cane seat" was, then stapled with heavy duty staples. then painted the chair.. covered the wire with potting coconut moss ( you can also buy the coconut moss baskets at JOanns, for reasonable and much easier to do. Made a mixture of potting soil and planted several small plants to match the chair color. I bring mine onto the porch during the winter months, it sits out in my walk way all spring summer and fall. You can add a cute small bird, animal, or other decoration during the year. ( bunny at easter) flag for memorial day and 4th of july , and so on. I will attempt to attach a photo here so you can see..

the cane was no good so I disposed of it. where the hole was I used chicken wire I got at the feed store. small hole type wire, made a little like wire basket then stapled it to the top of the chair seat just around where the cane was. bought at Joanns the coconut mat baskets the sell for like $4.oo then I did not need a pot. as the basket held the coconut and potting soil.. quick, and easy no pot needed
