Homemade Lemon Soft Scrub

Homemade cleaners are a great way to save money and this lemon soft scrub is one of my new favorites. I've found it works especially well for cleaning away soap scum from sinks and showers.

It's a simple mixture of baking soda, lemon scented dish soap and lemon juice. It mixes together quickly and it's a money saver too!
To make this soft scrub, I put some baking soda in a bowl and stir in the dish soap. It will have a consistency a little bit like frosting. Once those two ingredients are mixed together, I stir in some lemon juice.
Usually I don't combine baking soda with something acidic (like vinegar or lemon juice) with the thought that the fizzy reaction that it triggers will neutralize the mixture. But this time I forgot and added my lemon juice and the fizzing began!   But it turned out to be a happy accident because after I used this lemon soft scrub a few times, I realized it was a wonderful cleaner and now I use it all the time.

I love the pretty pale yellow color of this scrub and its clean lemon scent, but more importantly I love the wonderful job it does cleaning my sinks. If you like to save money and need a cleaner that can do the job (especially on soap scum), why not give this cleaner a try?  The complete recipe with measurements can be found on my blog using the link below.
