Halloween wreaths can be done in many different styles. I love to use alot of florals in my designs and make them fun and elegant. In this design, I show you how to make this Trick or Treat wreath using several products that you can purchase that are re-usable.
Chalk Couture and Junk Monkey Paint Co
For this project you will need a primed 11x11 wooden sign, wide paint brush, Chalk Couture Chalkology "Perfectly Purple" Paste , Chalk Couture "Trick or Treat" transfer, Chalk Couture Squeegee, Junk Monkey Paint Co. "Green Apple" . To purchase Chalk Couture products, visit https://down2chalk.chalkcouture.com. To sign up to become a designer, go to same website and click JOIN and use Sponsor ID "down2chalk"
Tools needed
You will need 4 pipe cleaners, scissors, wire cutters, paint brush, stapler, hot glue gun, & hot glue sticks.
Michaels Picks
To make the design fun and playful, pick out some cute Halloween picks that you can find. These are from Michaels but you can purchase from any where.
Florals and Greenery
This design will require alot of various greenery and florals. Here i have chose 2 greenery bushes from Hobby Lobby and florals from Michaels. You may use whatever florals appeal to you. To make the design more affordable, use Dollar Tree florals. I choose to use premium florals for a more elegant designer look. Using premium florals will add to the cost of your wreath but you will have enough florals to make multiple wreaths.
Ribbon and ornaments
I'm using 2-2.5" ribbon, & 2-1.5" ribbon that have Halloween colors. Always use wired ribbon for a better shaping of the bow. I also will be using 2 plastic green ornaments that you can grab from any craft store.
Painting sign
I used Junk Monkey Paint "Green Apple" to paint my wooden sign. One coat is perfect for a rustic look. 2 coats will be perfect. The paint dries fairly quickly and is a chalk style paint. Here is my link to purchase the paint http://bit.ly/shescraftytoo
Attaching the sign
To attach the sign, I staple 2 pipe cleaners on the back of each corner on the sign. I then staple them down, and cover the staples with hot glue for added security. Put your sign on the wreath, and fish the pipe cleaners thru and twist in the back. Clip off excess pipe cleaner.
Chalk Couture Transfer
Apply your Chalk Couture "Trick or Treat" Transfer. Smooth down with your squeegee or your hands. Apply just enough "Perfectly Purple" Chalkology paste over and spread out for even application. Any excess should be put back in your jar. After you are done applying the paste over the stencil, peel it up and see how beautiful your sign came out. Place your transfer in a tray of water and wash off the paint. Set out to completly dry (sticky side up) on drying rack. I use foil sheets and lay my transfers to dry that way. After they are dry, put them back on the paper backing you peeled it off from.
For transfers and paste, you may purchase from here https://down2chalk.chalkcouture.com

Bow Making
I Make my boes various ways, there are plenty styles to make. I just went with a bow that has 4 ribbons as pictured about, and made layers of bows with 3,3,2, 3 loops then secured with pipecleaner. you can search Youtube or Pinterest for various bow making videos. I attached bow to wreath by fishing pipecleaner thru to the back and twisting the pipe cleaner to hold in place.
adding grennery and florals
Adding greenery, florals and picks is the easy part. Use your wire cutters to cut off all the stems you want to use. I usually start with greenery and hot glue the stems, then place in the wreath on the top and bottom part of the bow. continue to add all your greenery and florals however your eye is pleased. You can make it as full as you want but adding various florals.
