If you have plants with weeds around them, you'll have to pick them. Otherwise pour boiling water on the weeds. You can use straight vinegar also. Wait until they dry out, then after it rains you can pull it out with the roots. The moisture of the dirt helps the weeds come out clean? Good Luck!

For perenials - Put down a thick layer of newspaper around the plants. cover with a three inch layer of mulch or layer of sand or small stones. For rows of vegetables or annuals - put down strips of newspaper between the rows anf cover with mulch or sand or small rocks. The newspaper will last about two - three months. Rain or watering will go thru the layers.

Weeding by hand is sometimes the best way..... otherwise you can research natural weed killers e.g. vinegar, salt, boiling water.
