Take the candle out and line it with fake ivy and battery operated fairy lights

If you're looking to keep the candle in it I will also add ivy to the bottom of the cage and wined it up and around inside and out. When I use the no flame candles I always take a taper candle and melt wax around the rim to give the candle of more realistic look. I'm also including a photo of a Birdcage I have in my bedroom that goes a total different look.

Spray paint in color of choice. Good, red blue and put a rock garden in the bottom with succulent plants or a small rose bush or just about any thing

I have an old bird cage and I'm going to put my succulents in there. I'm cutting some 4x4's about 3", 2" tall and painting them and putting my little succulents in small vases and staggering them throughout the cage, so they won't all be sitting in the bottom.

We had one that we used at my daughter's wedding for people to leave their gifts. It was painted a muted gold color and then woven with ribbons and beads. I kept it in my daughter's old room and I have used it as decor for other occasions and even put a battery candle in it.

Why don't you use it for its intended purpose? Put a real bird in it and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature.

Making your birdcage "fantastic" totally depends on the types of things you like, Your style, whether it will be a permanent display or changed up seasonally. There have been some lovely suggestions and I am including pictures of bird cages around my house. I like changing them up for holidays and seasons. So my suggestion would be try filling it with different elements, then take pictures and choose your favorite.

I would spray paint it black, take the coasters out, add a much taller candle inside maybe one with a timer so you don't have to keep turning it off and on or hollow out and reg candle you already started burning and stick a solar light inside, just the top part if your using it for your stair step outdoors and add ivy in the bottom around the candle and place a tassel on the top of the o-ring in want ever candle color you choose. If you find a cute kids plastic bird spray paint it and glue it to the spot you like.

Weave ribbons in complimenting colors through the bars of the center section, starting each row one bar from the previous row. Thinner ribbon will give a better effect than wide ribbon.

You might mask and spray paint the cage in a light color before starting the ribbon, masking and coloring the metal cutout areas a different color.
