We did a "wall of crates ", that contained everything from baby toys yo a study desk (as they got older). Ran 1x2"s behind them, attached these to wall for safety. To freshen them up, we unscrewed them, sanded, painted & rearranged. The different sizes & depths added to the rugged look. Enjoy!

hang wire or wicker baskets on the walls. Also those 3-5 shelf canvas hanging organizers are pretty cheap but they do take about 12-14" of space from your closet rod.

Rolling drawers or flat containers for under the bed might help. Also taking off the closet doors and adding the closet to the floor space if you can and/or outfitting the closet space floor-to-ceiling with shelves.

Try lining the back closer wall and inside door with dollar tree pouches these work great for shoes and toys or anything that fits in there and it's hidden and out of sight. Under the bed stores containers or old comforter clear bags work great under the bed, a bench with storage. Purging is the best way to get rid of out grown clothes being schools around the corner in my state..
