We have a 5 ft. wide, 24 inch long window in our bedroom - blinds are outrageously priced, and a closed curtain keeps out air and light - help! Any suggestions. Please and thanks!

Use contact paper! We had the same issue....need the light in the room but don't want everyone looking in. You can be pretty creative too - cutting out certain shapes or designs and putting them on the window. You can just put them on some of the windows - it's so flexible. And cheap! They go on easy and peel off whenever you are done with them. I did my front windows and my sister in law thought we had the windows etched! If you look on pinterest you can get more ideas. This is how I did mine:

I suggested sheers but maybe my comment didn't make it to you.

Hello Wen; I had this situation, at one time. The easiest fix is to use a large sheet.

Sheets are so inexpensive and can be found in many colors and designs.

I hope that this helps you!!! Take Care!

I ditto the sheers...you can buy them very inexpensively at Walmart, Target, or even online at Zulily and other discount shopping sites. Hang them in front of the window, then hang curtains -- pull the curtains back during the day to let the light stream in through the sheers, and close them at night when you want darkness and privacy! If you don't mind obscuring your view, you can buy privacy window paper at Home Depot, etc. that come in various patterns and colors. You could also use Gallery Glass to frost or "blur" your windows, or go all out and paint a faux stained glass design. Lots of options! :-)

You can purchase privacy film that will allow the light to still come through

Custom wood blinds are very reasonable online.
