I have two sets of folding doors that I removed from closets but are still in very good condition. Any interesting idea of what to do with them?

Make a wall decoration from them. I am looking for some for my daughter. You can hang hooks from the top for a coat rack. If you want you can attach a seat and make a hall tree. Have fun!

Private wall for garden, paint them before you place them

I'm in Canada so I'm afraid the weather may not help and will ruin the doors in a very short time :( but thank you for the idea.

You can attach them together with hinges to make a privacy screen . OR remove the hinges and use as 4 separate boards - these can be used in a more versatile manner (e.g. attach to a fence that needs sprucing up, or place them in a large pot to be used as backdrops for a small shrub or tree. Two of them placed on each side of an entryway might be interesting. You might even decorate them for the holidays (paint red, white, blue for July 4th, attach pine branch in bough-like fashion decorated with a bow for Christmas, etc.)

Thank you for replying. While using them outdoors may be a little bit of a challenge due to the Canadian weather, the idea of the entryway may be interesting as you say.

Attach each to the sides of a corner making a corner cabinet. Measure to make sure they "meet" when closed, then attach 2x4s (preferably in studs) to attach them to. Paint the 2x4s to match the doors.

Turn them into room deviders/decor...I am also considering a headboard in some artistic, imaginative way.

I would love the idea of the headboard! My son just changed his bedroom from a single to a double bed and has no headboard. I'll try to find some image ideas from internet. Thank you.

There are LOTS of ways to use them - two of which are mentioned above (screen and cupboard). Go on Pinterest and type in something like "Uses for Spare Doors" and many ideas will pop up. Personally, I'd use one to make a headboard (turn on its side, horizontally). If you have a large bathroom, hang some interesting hooks on it for towels and bathrobe then simply prop up against a wall.

I like the idea of painting one a pretty color that suits your decor, propping it up against a wall then hanging a wreath on it. This can be pretty in a girl's bedroom assuming the child is old enough that the door won't cause any harm if it fell over.

Just be sure to use common sense when following any idea!

Thank you for your time, the headboard idea sounds really convenient for us in this moment since my son's bedroom is missing one. I'll try to google some ideas for this.

Hi again, Ivonne: I just finished reading the ideas from other readers and thought I'd add my experience with painted wood kept outdoors. Ili (Clovis, CA) suggested a wall and you were hesitant due to Canadian weather.

I had an old kitchen chair I really didn't need anymore and decided to use it in a corner of my garden to add "some color". I used a gloss exterior paint and after 15 years, it still looks like new. It's had strong sun, rain, snow, ice, you name it and has held up very well.

So, I just thought I'd mention this, Ivonne, in case you decide to go for an outdoors suggestion rather than a headboard. By the way, where do you live in Canada?

It is true, your weather won't help...Can you hang them from a garage wall until you figure out how to use them? I'm sort of a minimalist, therefore my garage has wall space available...
