I have many drift wood items in my yard and home. Sometime you can just use your imagination to decorate around your house. No hammer, nails, painting or sanding required. Here are a few different drift wood items around my house.
I found this on the Tennessee river.
As you can see it looks to be a part of a fence post.
I flipped it over and used a coke tab and a small nail to make a hanger.
I hung the drift wood on the wall next to the door and it has been a key holder for the past 20 years. Just a hammer,1 little nail, coke tab and your imagination.
Here is my elephant. This is my favorite piece. I did use a longer piece of re-bard to hold the elephant up. It just happens that the wood is hollow at the bottom to about half way up.
Here are a few others sitting in my flower bed. Sometimes you will move the drift wood 100 times until you like the location where you place the wood.
This is my news drift wood. I placed it in a smaller flower bed.
I love the one end of the drift wood but the other end was really plain.
(The plain end) But with in a few minutes of picking up this piece I knew exactly what to do.
I placed a potted plant in the fork of the plain end.
To prevent the drift wood from moving I used these small pre cut re-barb.
Simple , easy and a little imagination is all you need for drift wood. The time you spend on this project depends on how long you look for the drift wood. Once I find drift wood it might take me a few weeks to figure out what I want to do with the piece of wood. I will lay it in a place where I will see it so I can think about it.
Happy drift wood hunting!
