Tan colored love seat & chair, beige shag rug on natural wood floors, natural wood antique desk. Would love a coastal look. Would peach look good behind tan loveseat? Was thinking of installing a chair rail, so one color on top and different color on lower part of wall. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

I love the beachy look! Since you have a lot of tan and natural colors already, I would try something with a bit more color. Peach is a great color, but I would use something with more contrast....perhaps a very pale aqua or pale ocean green. I would do a chair rail, and paint the lower half of the walls white for a great nautical look. I added a pic of my Guest Bathroom....I used a paint from Sherwin Williams called Sea Salt. It is a great color....looks either blue or green depending on your lighting....and it is very beachy looking. Good luck with your project! Be sure to post pics!

I agree that peach might not offer enough contrast to the tan and beige already in the room, and that a coastal blue or green is likely to look fresher and brighter. Michele's suggestion of Sherwin Williams Sea Salt is excellent, and you could also consider Benjamin Moore's Healing Aloe or Woodlawn Blue. If you want a different shade above or below the chair rail, just go one or two steps up or down on the same paint color strip.

My living room is coral. I have a brown sofa, brown wood floors and a tan rug. I wanted a coastal look too, and I get a ton of compliments on the colors in my home. My face t colors are cobalt blue a d turquoise. I think peach would be very pretty.

There are many colors that would go with your colors. A sage green is in vogue now with a white accent wall. also gold with a burnt orange accent wall. Also, gray with white accent on trimwork is also very popular. All these are great for your present furniture and natural wood. Use bright colors for throw pillows or accents. For example a throw pillow with beige, sage, red, orange, and yellow in a design would pull it all together. An area rug in front of the couch or love seat area would also tie it together if it has the colors of the walls you choose and beige etc to pull it all together. You might choose the area rug first and pick your wall color from the rug. Let it be your inspiration. Good luck! post a photo when you are done!

Definitely not something to rush into "methinks" . Was looking at different hues of green. Thank you so much
