Fleas usually prefer to attach to animals but if none are around they will come in with a human. I once had fleas in my house because an animal died under my neighbors front stoop. They will prologate in carpeting and plants- I called an exterminator who set off a "bomb" with a hormone that interrupts the fleas life cycle- I had to clear out for a few hours but it did the trick.

I would guess they are sand fleas. Need to get a bomb at big box store like HomeDepot. Follow directions and it should take care of the problem. Good luck

you can also just go to a "home depot" type store and get bombs for your house. just make sure you read the directions

I use 20 Mule Team Laundry Borax and I put it in a glass jar, and poke lots of holes in the lid. Then I shake it all over the rugs, and furniture if need be, and leave for 3 hours, then vacuum up..... no odor, not harmful. Repeat in 9 days to make sure all the fleas are gone, this is their hatching cycle.

I would mop kitchen floors with hot water. If you have loose fabric touching floors, vacuum bottoms of curtain, or wash with 1/2 c of borax.

Most fleas come in on your shoes from walking in the grass. If you live around eucalyptus trees, pick some leaves and put them under your carpet around doorways. You can also put a shallow tray of water with a bit of Dawn in it and 1/2" water to step into before coming in the house

Fleas will come in on socks. No need for an exterminator to spray dangerous chemicals. Buy diatomaceous earth and sprinkle it on your carpet. It's also safe and good to sprinkle on pets. The sharp pieces scrape away the exoskeletons on fleas, killing them.

You are sure welcome. It might take two times with the bomb. I would do the last bomb after a freeze not sure where you live.
