Homemade Baby Wipes Using Essential Oils

I came up with this idea while we were camping at our property in beautiful Northern British Columbia. Seriously, a baby wipe is one of the best things to have on hand. We usually buy them at the store before we leave. This time I forgot, and I didn't realize how handy they are! Wipe your hands, wipe your face, clean the kids, wipe a table, and safe enough to even wipe a baby's bottom! These things are just mandatory!
This is a very simple little project. All you need is a roll of paper towel, some water, a container and essential oil of your choice. I chose Lavender Oil which is also safe for kids and babies.
Separate each piece of paper towel to make individual wipes and then place them in your container. Add a few drops of essential oil to the water and fill the container until it's absorbed up by
the towel. Close the lid and shake to completely saturate.
As you can see in the background, my daughter swinging in the hammock with her rainbow umbrella!
These baby wipes leave your skin soft, and have a pleasing smell. They definitely do the trick when you need a simple, quick cleaning solution!

I have made my own wipes for 20 years and use a very similar "recipe". Except, I cut the roll in half, place it in a flip lid container ( have had that for 20 years) pour my solution over the roll. Then when the cardboard center becomes wet, pull it out. The paper towels "pop" up from the center. It works well in gallon zip lock bags for travel. And what a money saver!
