Paint Only Challenge:
We picked this garden table up at a rummage sale. It was in great shape, it wasjust faded and worn and ready for a little pick me up! So with just a little spray paint the table gets a new life!
Here it the garden table as we found it, dull and lifeless and ready to be made over. Took out my spray paint and got ready to go!
Here is another "Before" shot. It definitely needs a pick-me-up, don't you think?
Here we go!
Before I went for the black paint, I had a thought for half a second of painting it a bright color, but always remember what a neighbor said a long time ago. He said that wrought iron should only be black. So black it shall stay!
Got to work, sprayed away and with a new coat of spray paint, here she is! Looking so much better! I love it!
The photos don't show what a difference the paint made. It's vibrant and beautiful again. I am really glad we picked it up!
While I had the painting zone set up, I upgraded a couple more items. Stay tuned!

Hi! Was searching the site for the process of restoring an old wrought iron piece and found yours. Recently, I was given a cute little patio set--small round table with two chairs. The chairs are folding, thought that was kind of unique! A woman who got them from a 95 yo lady was putting them out for recycling and offered them to me:) They are in excellent shape, just need a paint job. I have never done this before. I, too, was thinking of a different color until I read your neighbor's advice...My question is, do you have to wire brush it or prime it? Is this all spray paint? Not sure if I should use matte or shiny. I will add a photo. I see there is a bit of rust, too. Thanks in advance for your help! You did a great job on your table and what a great find!!
