DIY 4 Seasons Of Wooden Garden Flags That Last

The weather can be intense in Florida and cloth garden flags just don't last. They fade, discolor and fall apart. I was done with cloth and ready to move on to something that would last.
And here is how it turned out! Orange and brown for fall on one side and black and white on the other for winter.
As you can see in the picture above, this is what happens after a few months in the sun. A faded flag that I would have to replace every year.
We started with plywood cut out the size of the garden flag that fits our garden flag pole.
I wanted to make 4 flags for 4 seasons. I would have 2 seasons on one piece of board. I used painters tape to tape of for the border colors. I also used outdoor vinyl for the decoration in the middle.
I love how they look and they compliment my front porch so nicely now.
Red, white and blue for summer and green and red on the other side for Christmas time. The one above was out all summer long and looks just as good as it did when I put it out the first day.

What kind of paint? Also great to see those Georgia Bulldogs in Florida!

Could you please give me more details on the precise plywood that you used, ie thickness— treated for outdoors or not? I seem to remember while making cornhole— there are several thicknesses and grades of plywood in a variety of price ranges. Thank you!

Great Idea! Goodbye to fading flags that never seem to hang straight ( & that also fly away ) and hello to these painted wood ideas. Luv it!

I really love how this idea has worked. The Florida sun hasn't faded them at all and they aren't flying all over the place anymore.
