How can I keep my small patio dog hair and smell free?

I have a small patio off the front of my apartment that I've turned into a little garden. I have 2 welsh corgis who shed a LOT! I keep the poop picked up but between the fur and the potty, my yard gets a musky yucky smell! I've tried yard deodorizers you get from the pet store, but they don't really help the main problem...urine and fur. Is there a way to breakdown the fur and urine on the ground?

For smell spray with Baby bottle Sterilizer. For Hair Brush the Dogs and Vacuum them before letting them out Or Don't let them out there, take them for a walk instead.

I walk my dogs daily, but the patio is our only outdoor space connected to the apartment, so keeping them out of it is not an option.

I looked up baby bottle sterilizer and only found small appliances made to put the bottles in...what is the spray you mention?

Cute patio! Sometimes visiting dogs use my patio pavers. I use my weed sprayer to spray white vinegar in the area (BTW it has never held anything but vinegar), let it sit for a few minutes, then hose it off. Seems to help on my patio. Good luck

I have a Corgi too and the undercoat constantly sheds. We brush every evening. Don't have any suggestions as far as the urine unless you plan on walking them.

You can try neutralizing the urine with baking soda and white vinegar.

It is not a Spray it is the Sterilizing Liquid called Milton. You would need to dilute it into a spray bottle. Do you have a Rubber Broom, because they will able to sweep up the dog hairs, and they are easily washed and dried. Have you tried using enzyne washing power and water mix, you could throw that on your yard paving and use the rubber broom to spread it too.

I too have a small paver patio my 12 year old blind dog urinates on. I use Natures Miricle from Pet store (diluted with 1/3 water to cut cost) and it works fine. I use daily on spots and pots and hose every couple days. In addition I scrape and add some new sand every year when smell is heavy like after winter.

  • We have trained our dogs to ONLY go in one area in the yard to do ALL potty business. Yup pee and poop. They run around in the yard the run into the always open kennel In the back yard. They do not even think of the front yard as "outside". The backyard is fenced and then there is the kennel (their rest room ). The kennel does not have grass I. It justsmall base gravel with a resin fire hydrant inside.
