DIY Flannel Coasters

Holiday season/Fall DIY's are my absolute favorite! I wanted to share some DIY gifts that I made last year on my YouTube channel. I am re-making a ton this year and couldn't NOT share with my Hometalk family. Now I am no good with a sewing machine so please feel free to share what to do/not to do to patch this guy together. I did what worked for me at the time but honestly? I would just e6000 the whole thing and save myself some time and pricks.
There are SIX easy Fall DIY's in my full YouTube DIY easy Pinterest Fall tutorial - the flannel coasters start at 1:23! If you click the time stamp in the description below the video, it'll take you right to it.
Gather up your materials: needle, thread (or whatever you want to patch it up if you are a pro - I am not) hot glue, e6000, scissors, felt, flannel material, sharpie and a measuring tape.
Start by measuring out how big you want your coasters. I am making my flannel pieces 4 x 4 and the felt 3 x 3 to easily fit inside.
Measure and cut two smaller felt pieces...
That fit into the larger two pieces of flannel you are going to cut next.
Set the felt on the "inside" of the felt.
e6000 them on - I didn't use hot glue because if you are putting a hot drink onto it I am assuming it'll melt and move around. We don't want that.
Put those pieces back to back so the felt is showing on the outside.
Pin the corners down.
Sew them together.
Leave a little tiny gap so...
You can flip the coaster inside out and hide the stitching.
Where there is the little opening after you flipped it right side out - put a little hot glue and seal it up!
I mean HOW cute? I cannot get over these. Making a ton of them this year! What would you do differently? What you would add? Remember sharing is caring!
We want to help you DIY, so some of the materials in this post are linked to sellers. Just so you know, Hometalk may collect a small share of sales from the links on this page.
