DIY Vertical Wall Planter

Here's a great idea for how to build a beautiful vertical planter to hang on your walls. It can hold several plants and adds a ton of style to any room! If you like this idea, you can see more easy and affordable DIY ideas on my blog, Love & Renovations.
To make the backing for the vertical planter, you'll want to use a Kreg Jig to attach four 1X6 boards together. You can cut them down to whatever height you want your vertical planter to be.
Once they're attached, the back will look something like this. You'll use a french cleat to hang this on the wall when you're done, so you can go ahead and attach one piece of it now. This is also the time to stain or paint the back of your planter (I just stained mine, you can see a full tutorial for how I stain wood on my Facebook page).
Next, you'll add you leather strips. There's no right or wrong way to do this, I just played around with the layout until I found something I liked. I did some longer straps so that I could insert a couple of small shelves, and some shorter straps that would hold a small terra cotta pot. I just used the materials I had to measure out how large the straps needed to be (see the full blog post for more details on how this works, but it's a lot of trial and error!).
Once you're done, you can hang it up and add your plants! This is really easy to scale up or down depending on how many plants you want to display, and you can adjust the shelves or straps however works best for you.

Just wondering you water those plants without running water down your wall?
