What is this, when can I trim it?

What is this I live in north Alabama n need to know wen it can be trimmed back getting in pool

    Picture is very hard to see.If anything wait until it has finished flowering

    They can be trimmed way back in the fall if you want to keep it. If you want to get rid of it just dig it up at any time of year. This looks like it's dead in parts already.

    After it blooms or in the fall, I would cut it back to about 1 foot and cut out all the dead. It should come back in the spring nicely.

    It looks like an abelia to me. If it is, it can take quite a hard pruning when required.

    cut it back about to 1 foot,this bush comes back in spring with new growth.

    they get leggy if now pruned.

    Abelia. I have several just like it. Can't kill it. Prune way back after blooming in the Spring.

    Take the biggest canes way down, only take about a third of the canes. Trim the rest. Do that every year and within two years it will come back much fuller and greener and supple.
