i got mine on QVC. My neighbor bought the same ones. Glass and bright in a set. I think they are by Phillips.

  • Solar lights are sometimes rated by "lumens" - the higher the number, the brighter the light. Quality does matter, cheapie dollar store solar lights are 1 to 3 lumens and will not last long before the battery needs to be replaced. All metal and glass models have higher lumens, better batteries and will last longer. So look for "lumens" on the package or display. Here is an example of a better or brighter model.

Avoid the $ store ones. Buy a brand name, and look on the box to see if it says bright...some do. Often the ones that have changeable batteries are brighter.

If you are talking about solar landscaping lights, I have not found any that really do the job. Most kind of "glow," but don't throw off enough light to be very useful. I have up on them and have used 12-volt wired lights throughout my property. Don't use halogen bulbs, however, if you go with wired lights. There are many kinds of low-voltage LED landscaping bulbs that are plenty bright and use one-fourth the electricity.
