If you choose one of the sets of legs that Sharon shows you, stick with the first pair. We had the second type on many tables and they were awful!

Even though the back is uneven on the slab, you can probably sand a bit down to get the legs to sit level or add shims. Before screwing the legs in, try taping them on, then turn the table over to see if the whole thing is level. If one set of legs aren't sitting on the floor, then work on that one before the others.

[You don't want to screw/unscrew the legs a lot because the holes in the wood will be stripped.]

Get two more pieces of matching wood for the legs. Saw them each to the height you eant your bench/table.Mount/attach them on the underside at each end like a bench. You will need braces to stabilize the legs.

Thanks for your reply. You definitely got lucky with finding that! I do smaller size woodcarvings, and I'm always looking for a good piece of wood. (I usually get small wedges or logs when I see someone just cut down a tree). That piece you have is beautiful! Please post an update when you finish working on it. Good luck
