I agree with these folks. You are a lucky person to have this sweet smelling beauty.
If you do not keep it under strong control it will take over everything it can reach! Also, keeping it under control you'll end up with more blooms & it's lovely. If anyone has a long fence they want covered for privacy, this is great! Had it in Maryland, it grows wild along edge of woods, and have seen it take over old abandoned houses.
It is a clematis. I have one and I just let it keep on growing. It's trying to cover the fence across our backyard. It is just gorgeous! Love it.
Thanks so much everyone for the info. As I have a "black thumb" I'm quite surprised it is still alive LOL.
