I have wide windows also and seller put on blinds and probably not really good ones. However I find it hard to let the 3 or 4 strings down evenly...these are horizontal blinds. I had vertical in another house and liked the but windows were not so wide..They also did fine on sliders though.

I prefer window shades. Just about every rm. in my house has shutters on the bottom, shades on the top with swags as a topper.

I personally don't like blinds in a bedroom. I would get or make curtains but I would definitely make them longer than 41inches. More like 80. To me that feels classier and cozy

how dark does your bedroom need to be....blinds will let in more light than you think, curtains are easier to hang. the length of the window .. you might have to put multiple blinds up to cover it, a single long blind gets heavy to pull up.

I would use grommet hung drapes. Much easer to clean and is available in a multitude of colors to match your decor

I would use blinds, with drapes over them, just for added safety. This will be lovely, especially if you get the drapes with the added weather protection for winter coming. Lots of colors to choose from. Try to have a cheerful room, when you are finished. Best wishes, J.

That is a very long window. What do you feel drawn to? What would you prefer for a window covering if the window were not so big?

The living room window in my '60's brick rancher is 113 inches wide...I feel your pain! It does happen to consist of two side windows on either side of the largest center window. Either curtains or good blinds are not an inexpensive venture. Before purchasing anything, look around at the options you have used in the rest of the house. For a feeling of continuity, it is usually best to be consistent for windows as well as floor covering. Is your house modern, vintage, glamorous or country casual? Do you want natural light or a thick blackout window covering for day-time sleepers? Also consider how just your bedroom is decorated? There are no simple answers; consider the above questions AND your personal preference. That will usually answer your question easily.
