Drop Cloth Upholstered Chair

Painters' drop cloth is one of my favourite materials to use in home decor. It's sturdy, has great texture and is inexpensive. After picking up a French Provincial chair (frame only) and painting the legs and arms with ASCP Coco, I sent this chair off to the upholsterer's to work his magic. It sits along side another chair done in the same manner, but with slightly different lines.

A basic chair frame was brought to life with painter's drop cloth.
I used ASCP Coco and then dry brushed it with Pure White and finishing the look with some antiquing oil before waxing and distressing.
The simple fabric enhances the lines of the chair.
A perfect pair for the living room - not the same chairs but tied together with the same finishing.

Beautiful! Did you put scotch guard or something similar on the fabric?

I don't understand why people use drop cloth or painters cloth on anything they want to last. My girlfriend redid her sofa with drop cloth and within a few days it started to pill and after a while it looked quite bad. If you are going to all that work, use quality material. Linda
