There's good and bad. Have a couple of companies come out to give you an estimate. Tell them you want a copy of their contract to read, and you'll get back to them if you decide to go with them. If a panel covers a part of the roof that has a leak, who fixes that and how much will it cost. I live in a senior village, and if you get panels, they won't fix your roof. Go online and type in ( Solar Panels, and see what you can find out more about them Good Luck!

  • It depends. Do your homework. Not all solar companies are the same. I love solar and we started out using it on our RV about 26 years ago. Some you buy outright, some are rent to own and some are straight leases. Compare companies and equipment, like who is responsible for maintenance or breakage (especially if it snows where you live), is that included? Then decide if you will really reap the benefits v. the cost. How do I replace my roof when the time comes - will they come and take down then reinstall? How much is the fee?

Talk to your electric company to see how they charge you. Our electric company doesn't let you use all your solar and they take and resale. Then talk to others around you that have solar. It's a heavy price to pay to be green.
