Gardeners! Help me identify this flower, please.

These flowers popped up this spring. No idea what they are (I'm not a good gardener.) The stalks are about four feet high, They're pretty and yielded flowers for me to cut all summer, but I am curious to know what they are.
(The quality of the photo isn't great...it's windy out today.)

These are zinnias. Zinnias are annuals that occasionally self-seed. These are beautiful specimens.

Zinnias are right. To add more color and texture buy seeds and plant different varieties in the spring. they are great pollinators and lots of butterflies and even hummingbirds love them.

Zinnias are very popular in my region and, occasionally, they will "volunteer" or come back the next year. They are popular with hummingbirds, too.

Yes its a zinnia. How lucky you are to have them pop up. They've been around for ages and come in more varieties and colors than Carter's got pills!!
Hummingbirds are fast and almost spastic little creatures. It doesn't take them long to extract even the tiniest bit of nectar from any flower. The way their bodies are made, they don't often "perch," but sometimes you'll see one appearing to sit on a branch or a limb. They're wonderful to observe and I'm sorry ours have left for the season. The only one left is the "scout." He/she is the first one to arrive every spring and the last one to leave in the fall. We love our little hummers.
