Have you thought of a Murphy (or wall) bed? Folds up into wall until you need it. Or a sofa bed on one wall.

You can purchase the hardware for a murphy bed and make your own frame.

desk /table with drawers that will easily store items your currently crafting for when the room needs to be used by guests. Get cube shelves to help corral craft items but have them out of sight when stored

I have the same room, craft and guest bedroom. I simply made sure there was enough room to use my (high quality) inflatable mattress when needed. The rest of the room has a curio cabinet, table and a couple chairs and a closet. I also have a couple small storage type organizers that I leave empty for guests to use for their things. It works great and they love they can look at my treasures and check out my books on the shelves. Very comfy, had a lot of compliments as well.

Martha Stuart has a great solution that I am gonna do for my craft/guest room. Follow this link:

Sorry, I can't paste this link live so you may have to copy and paste it into your browser. It's worth it!

A friend has an office guest room combo using a Murphy bed and sliding bookcases to hide the bed. For a craft room consider using closet space with sliding bookcases to hide the mess or a barn door

Well then that's actually much easier! You can do a room divider. Maybe a narrow open bookshelf or folding screen with a cork board to pin ideas or craft supplies. Maybe hang curtains above to be able to close off guest area. Good luck!

Can you convert the closet into the craft desk. Hang a peg board and store your supplies on that. Or install a Murphy bedthen you would have the whole room for your crafts

Lots of huge entertainment centers with doors with a potion that slides out in them are available for a song at thrift stores, (or for free from your neighbors curb). With flat screens TVs no one has a use for them anymore. BUT These make great cabinets to house "craft work stations" - then the mess can be closed up and no one can see it. Sometimes you will even find old computer stations that housed large screen computers , printers etc - that close up for home offices. These are also donated to thrift shops as flat screen monitors make these obsolete. The craft work station then can be painted with primer and painted to blend in with the wall if desired.
