I have wild grape vines that invade my veggie garden from my neighbor that doesn't do anything to get rid of them. I cut them off close to the ground and paint the stump with roundup. It is much closer to the root that way and should hopefully kill it the first time you do it. I had one grapevine that was about five inches thick. That one took more than a year to finally kill, but smaller ones should be much easier. I do the same with all the elms that were allowed to grow in the gardens and all over the yard before we moved in. It is also good for the weeds that are really hard to pull up and get the whole root.

Use a stump killer instead of Roundup. Just paint it on.

User a garden sprayer... dilute white household vinegar and spray on offending vegetation, it will die off quickly! But be careful not to over spray! It will kill off other species as well!!

Roundup only kills what is visible to the eye. Plant will likely re-sprout.

You need to use brush killer available at places like Home Depot, Lowes, your local Co-op etc. Mix a small batch as directed, but add a bit of Dawn dish soap and a bit of old motor oil for "sticking power". Put in coffee can and paint foliage with an old paint brush. You may cut off foliage only after letting set for a couple of weeks when foliage is dead. Be sure to keep pets away from this as it could be harmful. Remember things like poison ivy are just as irritating to the skin when dead as alive, so use caution when removing.

To start off I have to believe, I might be experienced in this field. We have lived in our house for 7 years, and for the first 5 years we struggled with honey suckle. It was in the cyclone fence the trunks of these vines were 4 to 5". So what you have to do is dig out the trunks, and spray with Ortho poison ivy & brush killer. Its not going to kill it when you try it, depending on how old the plants are. if the plants are establishedd like what we had you need to spray every time they pop up after getting rid or the trunks. and keep spraying them till they are all dead. when you spray them they tend to branch off and start another plant.this stuff was in our grass it would pop up and my husband would cut the grass and more would pop up. so spray spray spray. Be very serious or it will take over. Its extremely invasive. And Very Hard to Kill.

  • I use vinegar, but be careful as vinegar will kill anything if enough is applied.

This is just the thing! I find this works wonderfully. You have to cut the vine and then brush this on the top of where you cut it. Bonide It will travel down to the roots and kill the plant. Cut it wherever it is coming back and brush that on.
