I found a huge daybed with storage on the curb. Unfortunately it was way too huge and heavy to bring home, so I took out all the drawers and brought them home. After sitting in my garage for over a year, they have finally found their purpose!
I started by cleaning and sanitizing the drawers. Then I removed the drawer slides. They were the bottom mount style and left a hole in the back I fixed that by attaching some trim.
Next I built a simple base with the help of my Kreg Jig. I also cut out 4 extra 2x2 pieces to act as the supports that go between the drawers.
I primed and painted the drawers, the base and the supports. I used a gorgeous Navy for the drawers and silver acrylic paint for the base and supports.
I attached the base and the supports to the drawers using finish nails and wood screws and added casters to the base.
And there is a bar cart!! Can you believe these used to be drawers at one time?
