I like using chalk paint, but I don't want the distressed look, and I don't like all the brush marks. I would prefer it smoother. Anyone know how to do thi?

strange! I never have lines! But after trial and error, I never use anything except Annie Sloan paint and brushes.

  • Try using a sponge and not a brush. Smoother finish.

Thin the paint with a little water if you're getting brush marks.

  • ..I use Floetrol with ALL my paints, its designed to elminate brush and roller marks, I use it no matter what I am painting. ..I do a lot of Interior painting , for clients and for me, its a " must ", with any paint . SANDING is your firned, with furniture. ...even when using chalk paint. If you check out the buffet I did - its on my page here- the base is AS ( Annie Sloan) Duck egg Blue..sanded between coats and I use a foam roller with the seon coat before applying the white topcoat. Chalk paint is wonderful, but people may think you dont have to sand...you do. Lightly sand , use a tack cloth afterward.
