First time in my 55 yr life. Got some advice from the internet. Told family no food in kitchen can. Garbage disposal if possible. Never a big problem but always seem to have one flying around. Thoughts?

They may be fungus gnats and not fruit flies if you have plants inside. If that is the case you must re-pot them in fresh sailor the gnats will keep coming back

Take a small cup and fill it 3/4 with apple cider vinegar and cover the top of cup with plastic wrap. Poke a few pin size holes in the plastic and leave on the counter. Flies will enter but can't get out.

if the garbage disposal and pipe down to it stay dirty they can be hatching there. You'd be amazed at the gunk under the rubber gasket of the garbage disposal.

use a jar(s) containing some syrup to catch them. They get feet stuck in it and die. You can put it on inside window ledge and outside too
